RORY CELEBRATES ‘OUTSTANDING’ CARE HOME RATING
Penrith and the Border MP Rory Stewart, visited staff at Wigton’s Inglewood Care Home last week to congratulate them on a recent inspection in which they were rated “outstanding” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
CQC inspectors spoke to residents and relatives who told them staff were ’exceptionally kind and caring’ and Inspectors described Inglewood as ‘very well run’ with a ’very strong’ leadership team who promoted clear values and an open culture, and created a place where the views of residents and their families were highly valued and acted upon.
Only 1% of care homes in the County are rated as outstanding, and this is only the second in Cumbria, which makes it a huge achievement for Cumbria County Council.
Assistant Director, Deborah Butcher said: “This is a massive achievement and I cannot understate the significance of this rating. The CQC inspectors said that the care provided by the team at Inglewood was of a very high quality and they also received excellent feedback from residents and families alike who expressed views that the whole staff team were exceptionally kind and caring.”
After the visit Rory said: “Inglewood Care Home has a wonderful atmosphere, and a close-knit team of knowledgeable, caring staff. This ‘outstanding’ rating is testament to all their hard work and I am delighted to have this excellent facility in Penrith and The Border. I believe it is only the second care home in the County with this rating, which makes it an incredible achievement, and everyone involved in this success story should be incredibly proud.”
